Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Station: Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Belongs to the Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET), Centre for Atmospheric Research at Izaña. Research Agreement since 2004.

Measurements: Aerosols and clouds: active backscattering technique (micropulse LIDAR, MPL) in full-time continuous mode, all year around.

Aim: Research on Saharan dust intrusions and cirrus climatology in the subtropical region.

Available data: Extinction and backscattering profiles, and aerosol optical depth (AOD), since 2005 to date (except period from June 2006 to May 2007).
