The Detectability and Electronic Warfare Laboratory is part of the Electronic Technologies and Radiofrequency Department and its main goals are to acquire, maintain and update knowledge, as well as to procure innovative technologies and services, in the fields of radar and electronic warfare for defence and security applications.

It is fully equipped with a radiofrequency and microwave laboratory (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes...) that permits the development of electronic warfare prototypes and demonstrators.

The Laboratory also includes an anechoic chamber suitable for conducting electromagnetic tests that enable research in radar cross section and the effect of materials, covers and radomes on the radiation and scattering of objects. The chamber has been recently renewed with a novel spherical bi-static system that increases the capabilities of this facility.

Software tools based on rigorous and asymptotic methods are also available for solving electromagnetic problems. These prediction codes are employed not only to support the Laboratory activities, but also to assess other INTA dependencies as well as the armed forces, governmental institutions and private industries.
