EPOD

EPOD is the first low power consumption and low cost Electronic Warfare system (Jamming), specifically designed for UAVs and target drones.

Applications:

  • Self-protection system against radar-based weapons.
  • Ideal for armament operators and system assessment.
  • Trial platform for electronic countermeasures evaluation under real fire.
  • Radar operator training.

Nowadays, armies around the world have weapon systems based on radar. Although several jamming systems are available in the market, their cost, size and weight are not acceptable for their installation in UAVs and target drones, intended to destruction. Thanks to its low cost, the destruction of EPOD is acceptable in trials with target drones.

EPOD is a remote reconfigurable system that allows reprogramming in flight different electronic countermeasures and operating modes. Moreover, and due to its great versatility, it can be installed in any UAS. The system can operate in specific frequency bands S, C, X, Ku, or multiband.

Among the operating modes, it can be highlighted:

  • RGPO.
  • VGPO.
  • Dynamic and static RCS Control.
  • Reconfigurable dynamic and static vector modulation.
  • Noise.

EPOD is ideal for its installation in target aircraft with medium and high performances due to the low weight of the whole system (less than 5 Kg, batteries included) and its easy and flexible installation.

EPOD has been tested against different weapon systems, such as HAWK, ASPIDE or PATRIOT deployed by anti-aircraft units of the Spanish Army, obtaining very successful results.

Features:

  • Low cost, power consumption and weight.
  • Different operating modes.
  • Operative in different frequency bands.
  • Remote in flight reconfigurable system.
  • Versatile and flexible installation in different UAS.
