RLS EIS (Electrical Interface Simulator) new delivery

The RLS (Raman Laser Spectrometer) instrument EIS (Electrical Interface Simulator), is a GSE used to verify the operating systems of the different payloads of the Rover Rosalind Franklin of the ExoMars 2022 mission. This equipment is made up of different components HW and SW, as contributions from different European institutions of the Raman consortium (IRAP-CNES, RAL-UKSA) in addition to the own contribution of INTA-MICINN, the ultimate responsible for the equipment, as well as its verification and delivery. For the purposes of the agreement between MICINN and ESA, it is a deliverable model, to the ESA subcontractor and responsible for the integration and verification of the ALD (Analytical Laboratory Drawer) instruments, Thales Alenia Space - Italy, at its facilities in Turin.

Since the beginning of 2020, the EIS has undergone a process of replacing a damaged component, and updating its application SW to align with the Flight Model (RLS FM). This repair process was carried out at RAL (Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, UK) and the subsequent design, implementation and validation of the application SW, as well as the system performance verification have been carried out at INTA. This process was completed last week and it has been sent to TAS-I.
